The Mocon worm has the capability to record keystrokes as well as steal information from the infected computer. The worm spreads by copying itself to removable drives.

The worm will create the following files on infected systems: “autorun.inf” and “cssrs.exe”, these will be placed in the C:/ directory. The worm will also create various registry entries.

Keystrokes and information from the computer will be logged and then sent out to a remote location. Most affected users will be unaware that they are infected.

When installed, this program will create various files and registry entries. One file to look for is KeyProwler Keylogger.msi, which will be created in the user profile directory.
