Neeris.C is a worm affecting all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
This worm spreads via an exploit in the Windows RPC. For this reason it is very important that you always run critical Windows updates. Most of these issues are addressed quite quickly. Machines not updated will be exposed to this and other worms.
This worm will create a file called “dllcache.exe” in the system folder. It will also create various registry keys to start the program at boot time and to run it as a service.
The worm will then attempt to spread on infected computers by copying itself to removable drives. This worm can download further files to an infected computer and should be scanned and removed immediately.
