The W32 Worm.Gen.C is a worm affecting all versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The worm spreads by copying itself to shared drives and mapped network drives. It also spreads via instant messaging clients. The worm will drop various files onto an infected computer (eg: gphone.exe). It will also create various entries in the registry.
As with most worms, it can also download further malware. Once installed, the worm attempts to download files from a remote location as well as downloading updates for itself.
